Taliban in a statement on Wednesday criticized strength of delegation from Afghanistan for peace talks in Qatar, saying the event will be a conference not a wedding party or a reception.
Afghan government on Tuesday named a 250-member delegation for talks with the Taliban, which are scheduled to begin on Friday in Qatar capital Doha.
Taliban spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid in a statement said that organizers of the conference will not accept such a “large number of people.”
He also said that participating in such conferences with such strength is not a convention.
The statement said that only a limited number of people from the list will participate in the event.
