At least six people were killed while 40 more wounded when Taliban insurgents attacked Kunduz city before dawn on Saturday, an official said.
The provincial police said that the insurgents wanted to take control of the city once again, but the Afghan provinces repelled their attacks.
Naeem Mangal, head of main hospital in Kunduz city, said that the attacks left six people, including civilians, dead and 39 more wounded.
The attack on Kunduz city comes a day after the Taliban announced launch of their annual spring offensive.
Taliban captured Kunduz city for few days in 2015, before they were driven out by Afghan forces backed by US air strikes and special forces.
