An Afghan army commander on Tuesday ordered officers under his command not to bring Taliban and Islamic State fighters alive.
The order was issued by Lieutenant General Bismillah Waziri, who is the commander of Afghan National Army Special Operations.
“We are not able to feed them anymore,” Waziri said of militants.
The statement comes a day after Afghanistan’s Acting Defense Minister Asadullah Khalid said that the fight against the Taliban was jihad (holy war).
