Fourteen candidates who were introduced by the presidential candidates and civil society organizations to obtain membership in electoral commissions, secured the highest votes during a voting process which was held in ARG Presidential Palace today.
AVA- Presidential spokesman Shah Hussain Murtazwi said 81 candidates were introduced by the presidential candidates and civil society organizations to obtain membership in electoral commissions and 14 of them won the highest votes from 18 presidential candidates.
Murtazwi further added that Esmatullah Mal, Mawlana Abdullah, Mohammad Qasim Elias, Aurganzeb, Musafir Qoqandi, Hawa Alam Nuristani, Habib Ur Rahman Nang, Mohammad Younus Toghra, Chaman Shah Etimadi, Mohammad Zakir Zaki, Mohammad Hanif Danishyar, Geti, Zohra Bayan Shenwari and Syed Qutbuddin Roidad were among the candidates who obtained the highest votes.
The election process of the members of electoral commissions was supposed to be held on Wednesday but the process was delayed due to the absence of certain candidates while some others had requested to delay it for a better conduct of election process.
The election process of the members of electoral commission was conducted as per the new electoral law which was passed by the cabinet and signed by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani last month.
