President M. Ashraf Ghani arrived in eastern Nangarhar province on Sunday morning, Shah Hussain Mortazavi, the deputy spokesman to the president said in a statement.

AVA- According to the statement, president Ghani, who has travelled to Nangarhar province at the head of a high-level security and defense delegation, is expected to deliver a speech against Daesh (ISIS) terror group.
“President Ghani has arrived in Ghani-Khel district of Nangarhar province,” Haroon Chakhansuri said adding that “he will meet with elders of Ghani-Khel, Achin, Nazyan, and Momand Dara districts”.
Daesh had a foot hold in the province.
Nangarhar province is an eastern provinces of the country that ISIS fighters are operating terrorist activities in some districts of the province; the terrorist group also sustained heavy losses during military operations carried out by Afghan security forces in different parts of the province.
