President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, First Vice President Gen. Abdul Rashid Dostum, and the Intelligence Chief Masoom Stanikzai held a joint security meeting to discuss the current situation of the country, including the recent upheavals in northern Faryab province.
AVA- The Office of the First Vice President in a statement said the meeting was organized in ARG Presidential Palace today.
The statement further added that the First Vice President Gen. Dostum discussed the security situatin of the country, including the latest developments in Faryab province.
The meeting mainly focused on preventing further deterioration of the security situation, the statement said, adding that the participants of the meeting specifically focused on vulnerable parts of the country, including Faryab.
The statement also added that the National Security Adviser Dr. Hamdullah Mohib had also participated in the meeting.
The issue of negotiations with the Taliban group was also discussed the meeting, the Office of the First Vice President said, adding that the government leaders agreed to expedite efforts regarding peace efforts.
