Nine people, including three women, were wounded in an overnight earthquake in northern Baghlan province, an official said on Thursday.
Public Health Department Director Muhibullah Habib told Pajhwok Afghan News nine injured had been evacuated to Pul-i-Khumri Civil Hospital after Wednesday night earthquake.
He said three women were among the injured who had been discharged after treatment.
Abdul Naseer Kahzad, head of the Natural Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) said the overnight 4.9 magnitude earthquake destroyed 60 homes.
He said there was no information regarding losses in the districts and far-flung areas of Baghlan but a survey had been kicked off in Pul-i-Khumri, the provincial capital, to collect facts and figures about the losses.
He pledged to provide necessary assistance to the affected families.
It is worth mentioning that earthquake killed a large number of people in the Nahrin district some years back.
