The Independent Election Commission said on Tuesday it would not hold provincial and district councils elections with presidential vote on April 20 next year.
Earlier, the IEC was considering postponing the presidential election by three months to make possible holding the elections at the same time.
IEC Chairman Gula Jan Abdul Badi Sayad at a press conference said that the presidential vote would be held together with parliamentary elections in Ghazni province on April 20, 2019.
He said that the elections for provincial and district councils would be held on 21st September on 2019.
Sayad said that holding four elections together would require time and more preparations.
He said that the timetable for the April 20 elections would be approved by the commission on Wednesday.
He added that another campaign would be kicked off for registration of voters ahead of the elections.
At the conference, IEC announced also preliminary results of October parliamentary election for Takhar and Khost provinces.
