Kremlin spokesperson says two leaders will have 'opportunity to talk' on G20 summit sidelines in Argentina
AVA- Russian President Vladimir Putin and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman may meet on the sidelines of the G20 summit, the Kremlin spokesperson said on Wednesday.
Such events give their participants the possibility to exchange views beyond the official arrangements, Dmitry Peskov told journalists at a conference-call in Moscow.
"It is obvious that they both will be there at this summit, so one way or another, they will have the opportunity to communicate on the sidelines," he said.
The G20 summit is scheduled to be held in Argentina on November 30.
If confirmed, the tour will be the first by the crown prince since the murder of Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi last month.
The statement comes at a very sensitive time when the global spotlight is focused on Mohammed bin Salman, the crown prince of Saudi Arabia and the country’s de facto ruler, and on his potential role in the killing of the Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi in Istanbul on Oct. 2.
