Police in capital Kabul and in northern Kunduz province have recovered 37 kilograms of heroin and arrested five persons, a statement from the Ministry of Interior (MoI) said on Sunday.
One person had been arrested and five kilograms of heroin recovered from him at the Hamid Karzai International Airport in Kabul.
The contraband was placed in shirt and underwear, according to police.
Separately, police have recovered 32 kilograms of heroin from a vehicle in the Pul-Charkhab locality on Baghlan-Kunduz highway.
The heroin was cleverly placed in a sarach type vehicles which were recovered by police, said Brig. Gen. Abdul Baqi Nuristani.
Four people had been arrested in connection to the smuggling of the heroin, he said.
