Afghanistan's Ihsan Karimi secured silver medal at the 17th All Asia Open Karate Championship in Bangladesh.

Karimi was only Afghan athlete representing his nation at the event which was organized by the International Karate Organization Kyokushinkaikan in Dhaka.
Karimi bagged silver medal after defeating his rivals from Nepal, China, Bangladesh and Iran, the General Directorate of Physical Education and Sport of Afghanistan said in a statement.
The statement said that Karimi suffered injury in the final fight for gold.
The completion was attended 71 athletes from 18 countries.
