The National Procurement Commission (NPC) approved six new contracts having a combined value of around 1.5 billion Afghanistan, the Office of the President said.
According to a statement released by ARG Palace, the latest NPC meeting was organized late on Monday evening and was chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
The statement further added that meeting approved six new contracts and resent the contracts for five other projects to the relevant institutions for further review.
The contracts approved during the meeting include procurement of related equipment and machineries for Asphalt company and repair and maintenance of roads for Kabul Municipality, modification of the contracts for some road construction projects in Kabul city, procurement of six various types of lab equipments for Ministry of Mines and Petroleum, technical services for customs houses, and procurement of three types of oil (petrol, diesel, and kerosene) for the Secretariat of the Parliament House.
President Ghani also instructed the relevant authorities to review the contracts for parliament and introduce the involved officials to the Attorney General’s Office, add seasonal fruits in defense ministry contracts and increase share of local purchase in the same contract, review the contracts for Maidan Wardak Apples contracts and take legal actions against the companies and officials who have violated the contract terms.
