New air corridors are opened with Europe, all cities of India, China, Russia and Dubai
Senior Advisor to the President in Banking and Finance Affairs has signed and MoU with airlines and Afghanistan's Chamber of Commerce and Industries on opening new air corridors with Europe, China, Russia, Dubai and all cities of India. The main goal of new air corridors is to increase the Afghanistan's export volume to these countries.
Samir Rasa, Public Relations Officer and Advisor said in a press conference today at Government Media and Information Center(GMIC): "The first carrier flights of the country's merchants through the new air corridors to Europe, China, Russia, and all Indian-West Indian cities are set to begin soon."
Before these air corridors, Afghanistan had opened other air corridors with Delhi and Mumbai cities of India, Kazakhstan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia and a total of 169 flights have been conducted from Kabul and Kandahar airports, to Mumbai, Delhi, Almaty, Istanbul and Jeddah ever since. As result, 2961 tons of goods including fresh fruits, dry fruits, Hing, and handmade rugs, were exported via air.
Rasa also pointed out to the approval of industrial parks policy by High Economic Council and said that currently in 13 industrial parks of 11 provinces; lands are ready for the distribution for investors. He added that distributions of lands in the industrial park of Barek Aab will begin soon and 16 companies are known as qualified for the bid.
Head of Public Relation Office and Senior Advisor to the President in Banking and Finance Affairs recognized the holding of the Afghanistan-India Trade Fair which was held for four days in Mumbai, as a great opportunity for investors and said there were 160 shops from 300 Afghan traders, 1200 Indian companies and more than 100 participants from several countries of the word had participated in the fair.
Afghan traders signed hundreds of contracts in various categories including carpets, dry fruits, mine, health, energy, technology and services.
