Six police personnel were wounded in two back to back bomb explosions on their post in southern Kandahar province on Sunday evening, an official said.

AVA- Deputy provincial police spokesman Bashir Khaksar told media the twin blasts targeted a police check-point in the jurisdiction of the 14^th police district shortly after 8pm Sunday evening.
Another security official, who wished to go unnamed, told the source the 14^th police district deputy chief was among six police injured in the blasts.
The security official said the one of the two bombs that went off first had been placed in a power transformer and the second planted on the median strip.
