Taliban abduct passengers travelling in three buses in north Afghanistan
Taliban insurgents stopped three buses and abducted passengers in Afghanistan's northern province of Kunduz on Monday, an official said.

Safiullah Mahzon, a provincial police official, said that the passengers were travelling from neighboring Takhar province to capital Kabul when they were halted by the insurgents in Nekpay village of Khanabad district in Kunduz.
He said that forces launched efforts to rescue the abducted people, adding heaving fighting was underway in the area.
The attack comes a day after President Ashraf Ghani announced ceasefire with the Taliban starting from today Monday. He said that the ceasefire was conditioned on the Taliban agreeing to the pause.
