The Minister of Interior Wais Ahmad Barmak on Saturday with a number of Taliban group members in Kabul as the officials are saying both the government and the Taliban group have so far adhered to the ceasefire announced ahead of Eid Al-Fitr.
Barmak reportedly met with the Taliban group members during the second day of Eid as he was travelling in the outskirts of the city.
Photos emerging on social media show Barmak and Taliban members are holding talks on a roadside in the capital.
The Ministry of Interior has not commented regarding the meeting so far but reports indicate that Minister Barmak met the Taliban group members in Company area of the city.
In the meantime, Barmka has told BBC’s Afghanistan service that he was patrolling on Kabul-Maidan Wardak highway when he came across with the Taliban group members.
In the meantime, the Ministry of Defense (MoD) officials are saying that both the government and the Taliban group have fully adhered to the declared ceasefire so far.
The officials also added that the Afghan national defense and security forces have also greeted each other in some provinces of the country on the occasion of Eid A-Fitr.
