H.E. Eklil Hakimi, Minister of Finance, met with H.E. Jin Liqun, President of Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank at the headquarter of the bank in Beijing, China.

In this meeting, both sides discussed support and investment of the Bank in various ares in Afghanistan including solar energy projects in Hesar Shahi Industrial Park of Nangarhar and Dasht Baba Laghman, Construction of Kabul City Ring Roads and Railway projects.
Minister of Finance also expressed in the meeting that Afghanistan considers its membership and relationship with the Bank valuable and significant. He further emphasized cooperation and practical activities between Afghan government and the Bank, especially in the above areas.
Likewise, Minister Hakimi spoke about the visit of AIIB's high delegation to Afghanistan in previous January this year and called its results fruitful to promoting cooperation between the countries and finalization of certain projects.
At the end, Mr. Jin Liqun reiterated the Bank's interest in and commitment to implementing infrastructure projects in Afghanistan-adding that the bank is ready to provide necessary resources to the Government of Afghanistan in partnership with other donor countries including International Monetary Fund and the World Bank given the unique circumstances of Afghanistan.
