The Afghan government has approved new contracts worth 1.6 billion Afghanis during the latest meeting of the National Procurement Commission.
The Office of the President, ARG Palace, in a statement said the National Procurement Commission meeting was organized in the Palace this morning and was chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani.
The statement further added that the meeting approved the contracts for the purchase of raw materials for the prefabricated housing enterprise consisting of 16 raw material items and repair of 53 kilometers of Kabul-Jalalabad highway subject to opinions of the donor of the project, the Asian Development Bank.
Contracts for the procurement of 12 items of pesticides for the ministry of agriculture and 11 food items for the ministry of public health as well as modification of the contract price for the electronic national identity cards were also approved during the meeting.
According to ARG Palace, other contracts approved during the meeting included the modification of the contract price procurement of equipment for the national construction lab of the ministry of public works and procurement of food items for the ministry of interior.
