The Afghan armed forces pounded the Taliban hideouts with heavy artillery and airstrikes in northeastern Badakhshan province of Afghanistan.
The 209th Shaheen Corps of the Afghan Military in the North said at least seven militants were killed and seven others were wounded during the operations.
The source further added that six militants were killed in the artillery strikes in Dodgah village in Tashkan district and four others sustained injuries.
According to Shaheen Corps, the Afghan Air Force also carried out airstrikes on Taliban hideouts in Kohistan district in support of the ground forces.
At least one Taliban militant was killed during the same operations and three others were wounded, the Shaheen Corps added.
The anti-government armed militant groups including Taliban militants have not commented regarding the report so far.
This comes as counter-terrorism operations and clashes are underway in Tashkan and Kohistan district of Badakhshan province since the last few days.
Earlier on Friday, reports emerged suggesting that the control of Kohistan has fallen into the hands of the Taliban militants and that operations are underway to retake its control.
