At least one hundred and forty six suspects have been arrested on various criminal charges in Kabul over a period of two weeks, the security officials said.
AVA- According to the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) officials, the suspects were arrested from different districts of Kabul as well as Kabul city.
The officials further added that the suspects were arrested in connection to 125 criminal related incidents, including murder, armed robbery, possession of illegal weapons, and other criminal activities.
This comes as there has been a sharp rise in criminal-related incidents in Kabul city and other key cities of the country during the recent years.
In the meantime, President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani met with the police officials during a late night visit to the Police District #10 in Kabul city on Sunday night.
President Ghani hailed the security forces for their ongoing efforts to curb the terrorists plots as well as for the fight against the organized crimes, including kidnappings and drugs smuggling.
He also insisted that the security forces should further increase their efforts to combat terrorism and the organized crimes.
President Ghani also instructed the security officials to step up efforts to ensure better security for the city residents.
