A suicide attack rocked the Swat Valley in the Khyber Pakhunkhwa province of Pakistan leaving at least eleven Pakistani soldiers dead.
AVA- The incident took place late on Saturday evening in the vicinity of Tehsil kabal area after a suicide bomber targeted an army unit.
The Pakistani military in a statement confirmed that 11 soldiers lost their lives and 13 others were wounded in the attack.
The statement further added that the suicide bomber targeted the sports area of the army unit located in Sharifabad area of the Swat Valley.
According to reports, the Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan has claimed responsibility behind attack which takes place years after the Pakistani military launched a major offensive against them in the area.
Militants affiliated with Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan were actively operating in the valley during the years 2007 and 2009.
The armed forces of Pakistan launched major operations against the militants in 2007, 2008, and 2009 to eliminate the militants active in the area.
Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi strongly condemned the attack and vowed relentless fight against the terrorist groups.
He said the war against terrorism will continue till the elimination of the last terrorist from Pakistan.
