An earthquake of magnitude 5.3 was recorded in Afghanistan on Sunday afternoon, the United States Geological Survey said.
There were no immediate reports of significant damage or injuries from the quake which happened at 1:49p.m.
The epicentre of the quake was said to be in northeast Badakhshan province. Its depth was measured at 204.2 km.
The quake was also felt in capital Kabul.
The deadliest earthquake in Afghanistan was recorded in October 2015, which left more than 300 people dead in the country and its neighbour Pakistan.
