The Afghan government has approved eight new contracts worth around two billion Afghanis during the latest meeting of the national procurement commission.
AVA- The Office of the President, ARG Palace, in a statement said the meeting of the commission was organized in ARG Palace late on Sunday.
Chaired by President Mohammad Ashraf Ghani, the meeting concluded with the approval of several key projects, including road construction projects in Kabul.
The statement by ARG Palace further added that the contracts approved during the meeting include procurement of 17 K9s for the security of 32 security belts along the Kabul greene zone, consolidation work of the Maslakh road security post in Kabul, and consolidation work of the 6th police district of Kabul.
Other contracts approved during the meeting include construction of road from Qala-e-Musa in Kabul to Bibi Mehru, construction of road of Murgh Geran village having a lenght of 14 kilometers, and construction of road from Kandahar city to Spin Boldak having a lenght of around 40 kilometers.
The national procurement commission also approved the contracts for procurement of food items for the Afghan army and modification of the project period of road construction from Faizabad to Baharak in Badakhshan.
