Afghanistan have won the first South Asian Zurkhaneh Sport and Koshti Pahlevani Championship held in Nepal.

AVA- The competition in Kathmandu involved eight teams in the region including also Bangladesh, Nepal, Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Maldives and Bhutan.

Afghanistan claimed the first position with 156 score, while Bangladesh and Nepal became second and third respectively.

In total, Afghanistan bagged 10 gold medals, two silver and one bronze.

Five of the gold medals came in individual plays, while the other five came in group games.
