Afghan Voice Agency (AVA) - Mashhad: The weekly Tabbyeen discourse on the topic of "Nights of Power" was held today, Wednesday, March 19, by the Tabyan Center for Cultural and Social Activities in the holy city of Mashhad.
In this meeting, Amina Nazari, an expert on religious issues, referring to the position of the Night of Power in the Holy Quran, said: The Night of Power is one of the most important and blessed nights in the month of Ramadan, which God has mentioned in Surah Qadr and said: "Indeed, We sent down the Quran on the Night of Power."
She added: "God has considered the Night of Power to be superior to a thousand months, and this shows that worship on this night is worth more than 83 years of worship."
Nazari emphasized: "On this night, the destinies of humans for the next year are determined by God and communicated to the angels. Also, one of the characteristics of this night is the descent of angels and Gabriel to the earth and the spread of goodness and blessings among believers."
This expert on religious issues listed reading the Quran, prayer, recommended acts of worship, supplication and seeking forgiveness, visiting Imam Hussein (AS) and seeking forgiveness as among the recommended actions on this night and said: It is stated in the narrations that whoever worships the Night of Power with faith and sincerity, his past sins will be forgiven.
Referring to the current conditions of the Islamic world, Ms. Nazari continued: Given the numerous challenges such as religious divisions, the influence of enemies and political and social crises, emphasizing the unifying dimensions of the personality of Imam Ali (AS) can pave the way for empathy and cohesion among Muslims.
She added: Imam Ali (AS) holds a high position not only for Shiites but also for Sunnis. Many Sunni scholars have referred to him with titles such as Asadullah and Imam al-Arifin.
Emphasizing that one of the most important teachings of Imam Ali (AS) is to recognize enemies and confront division, Nazari said: “Today, when the enemies of Islam are trying to intensify religious differences, it is necessary to reread the life of Imam Ali (AS) and emphasize Islamic commonalities.”
He also referred to the practical life of Imam Ali (AS) in the fight against oppression and tyranny and added: Hazrat Ali (AS) was a unique example of seeking justice who always stood against oppression and corruption in the intellectual and ideological arenas, on the battlefield, and in governance.
Nazari continued: “During his caliphate, he opposed the discriminatory and tyrannical policies of Muawiyah and was particularly strict against economic and social corruption.”
According to him, the life of Imam Ali (AS) is a model for all those who seek justice in history, showing how one can stand against oppression and at the same time maintain moral and humane principles.
Horiyeh Hosseini, an expert on religious issues, continued the session by saying about the most important message of the Night of Power for Muslims: The Night of Power is not just a night of individual prayer and worship, but it is a night that proves a great truth: the world is incomplete without the infallible Imam. On this night, angels and spirits present all matters to the Imam of the Time (aj) and the destinies of humans are determined under his supervision.
She emphasized: Muslims ask God for the best destiny on the Night of Power, but is happiness and peace in this world and the hereafter possible without the existence of the Imam of the Time (aj)? No. For the globalization of Islam and achieving perfection, the presence of God's guardian is essential.
Hosseini continued, considering the martyrdom of Imam Ali (AS) on the Night of Power to have profound implications and said: "This symmetry shows that the Night of Power is not only the night of determining destinies, but also a night to understand the position of guardianship and Imamate."
Referring to the role of Imam Ali (AS) in the interpretation of the Quran, he added: "The Night of Power is the night of the revelation of the Quran, and the martyrdom of Imam Ali (AS) on this night emphasizes the fact that the Quran and Imamate are inseparable. The Quran without the Imam is a text that may lead to incorrect interpretations, and the Imam without the Quran will be a meaningless guide.
Hosseini considered the Night of Power to be the night of great choices and said: "On this night, we decide how to determine our destiny. Just as Abdur Rahman bin Muljam also chose his destiny on such a night, but he chose the wrong path. He who apparently recited the Quran, but due to ignorance and misunderstanding, divided the difference between justice.
