Afghan police arrest 3 Pakistani men, 2 women over arms smuggle

The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the reports so far.

At least five Pakistani nationals including two women were arrested by Afghan national security forces in connection to arms smuggle in Afghanistan. 

The interior ministry of Afghanistan following a statement, said that the Pakistani nationals were arrested by police forces in eastern Nangarhar province. 

The statement further added that three men and two women were detained by Afghan police forces, and some weapons along with explosives were seized from the detained individuals. 

According to interior ministry officials, the detained individuals have confessed that they were smuggling weapons from eastern Kunar province to Nangarhar province for terrorist attacks. 

The anti-government armed militant groups have not commented regarding the reports so far.
Nangarhar is among the relatively restive provinces in eastern Afghanistan, where militants from the Taliban group and other insurgent groups are actively operating in a number of its districts.
