A peaceful and stable Afghanistan is in the benefit of the region and Pakistan

Pakistan wants friendly relations with Afghanistan in an atmosphere of good neighborliness based on the principle of mutual respect to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of each other.

President Hamid Karzai and Nawaz Sharif Prime Minister of Pakistan attended a joint press conference and they emphasized on relation of goodwill cooperation and neighborliness between the two nations. 

Addressing the press conference President Hamid Karzai said that in the meeting they discussed peace, struggle against terrorism and economic issues and I thank Pakistani Prime Minister for his good intention and his efforts and I hope that these efforts yield results so that the people of Afghanistan and Pakistan live in calmness.
 
The Prime Minister of Pakistan said that a peaceful and stable Afghanistan is in the benefit of the region and Pakistan. 

He added that I want to clarify that Pakistan wants friendly relations with Afghanistan in an atmosphere of good neighborliness based on the principle of mutual respect to the sovereignty and territorial integrity of each other.
 
He stressed that for this very reason from the start of my mission, I prioritized constructive cooperation with Afghanistan and I had some efforts in this direction. He noted that we are on the threshold of destiny-making year in the history of Afghanistan and during the year 2014 the Afghans will take bold steps for determining their fate and we welcome and wish success for our Afghan brothers. 

He added that in our view the key to peace in Afghanistan in 2014 and after that is linked with comprehensive political solution and for this very reason Pakistan always supported the peace process led by the Afghans. He pointed that once again I commit myself we shall continue our cooperation towards realization of our common aims that is peace progress and welfare in the region and beyond it.
