Insider attack leave 2 border police dead in Kandahar province

Insider attacks or green on blue attacks have been one of the major concerns both for the Afghan and coalition security forces which have left dozens of Afghan and NATO troops dead during the recent years.

At least two members of the Afghan border protection police forces were killed following an insider attack in southern Kandahar province.

The incident took place in Shorabak district of Kandahar province late Saturday evening after a member of the Afghan border protection police forces opened fire on his comrades.

Shorabak district chief, Abdul Nafeh Baresi confirming the report said the assailant police officer managed to flee the area after killing his comrades.

At least three Afghan local police (ALP) officers were shot dead by their comrades in a similar incident in southern Kandahar province late in October.

Insider attacks or green on blue attacks have been one of the major concerns both for the Afghan and coalition security forces which have left dozens of Afghan and NATO troops dead during the recent years.
