U.S. – Afghanistan Partnership website launched in Kabul

This comes access and use of internet has dramatically increased among the youth generation of Afghanistan during the past 11 years.

The US embassy in Kabul on Monday launched an exclusive website under the name of U.S. – Afghanistan Partnership which broadcasts reports only in English language.

The website posts reports and videos regarding development projects in Afghanistan which are mostly funded by US government.

US embassy in Kabul following a statement on Monday announced that the interested individuals can use the data of the website and share them with their friends.

The statement further added that the US embassy in Kabul will pave the way journalists, web bloggers and media agencies interested to hold talks with the individuals and institutions posting reports and news in the website.

Officials in US embassy in Kabul also added that the website does not belong to the government of United States but the embassy supervises the contents of the website.

This comes access and use of internet has dramatically increased among the youth generation of Afghanistan during the past 11 years.

According to Afghanistan telecommunication and information technology ministry, around 10 percent of the Afghan population have access to internet across the country.

Lack of knowledge of internet among the Afghan youth and high cost to access internet are the two main reasons which prevents further growth of internet access in Afghanistan.
