Afghanistan to probe suspicious landing of aircraft in Kandahar

It is yet not know why the aircraft landed in Kandahar airfield and what was the reason behind the landing.

 Local authorities in southern Kandahar province said they had received instructions from capital Kabul to allow landing of a foreign aircraft in Kandahar airport. 

Provincial governor spokesman Javid Faisal said the aircraft left Kandahar airfield after three hours on the same day. 

Afghan president Hamid Karzai during the national security council meeting instructed national security adviser to investigate the landing of a foreign aircraft in Kandahar. 

It is yet not know why the aircraft landed in Kandahar airfield and what was the reason behind the landing. 

The national security national security council following their meeting on Sunday decided to strictly investigate the suspicious landing of the aircraft. 

The council also instructed national security adviser to investigate who had approved the landing of the aircraft in Kandahar airfield.
 
In the meantime Kandahar governor spokesman Javid Faisal said the aircraft was allowed from capital Kabul to land in Kandahar.
 
“It was said from Kabul that the aircraft should fly and it was done. Provincial governor and airport officials do not have the authority to approve the landing of foreign aircrafts. Before the landing of the aircraft, provincial governor and security chief were briefed regarding the aircraft and to which country it belongs to.”
He also said that it was neither a military nor a civilian aircraft.
