President Karzai calls on Pakistan to fight terrorism
The letters have been addressed to the political and religious figures of Pakistan including Asif Ali Zardari President of Pakistan, Raja Parvez Ashraf Pakistan Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif Leader of Pakistan’s Muslim League Party.
Presidential Palace media office following a statement said, “The President recalled in the letters that the attack on a girl-child means that the peoples in the region, particularly the nations on both sides of the Durand line face a dangerous enemy who seeks to doom the present and future of their people to darkness and ignorance, close schools and deprive them of religious studies and modern education.”
President Karzai said, similar attacks have been perpetuated since many years on both Afghan schools and students therefore the people of Afghanistan better understand the pain and suffering of Malala and see the attempt not only against her but also against all Afghan girls.
It is noted that Malala has been encouraging girls for education who herself was interested in learning, hence the attack on her is described a sign of dastardliness and an act against religion and culture of the two nations.
The President said that the voices and sorrows raised by the peoples of the two countries including political and national leaders signify that it is a deplorable event that requires serious attention.
