NATO-led International Security Assistance Force following a press release on Monday announced, Afghan and coalition security force detained a Haqqani leader in Terayzai district, Khost province, today.

At the time of his arrest, he was equipping his insurgent cell with military uniforms for a planned attack on an Afghan government facility, ISAF said following the statement adding that security force also detained several suspected insurgents and seized multiple firearms during the operation.

In a seperate operation Afghan and coalition security force detained a Taliban explosives expert in Panjwa’i district, Kandahar province. The detained explosives expert acquired, constructed and emplaced improvised explosive devices for attacks against Afghan and coalition forces throughout the province. During the operation the combined force detained two additional insurgents.

Anti-government armed militant groups yet to comment regarding the reports.
