On May 21, 2012, Canada announced a financial contribution of $110 million per year over three years (2015-2017) towards helping sustain the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) following the end of Canada’s training mission in March 2014.

Today, Glenn Davidson presented his credentials to President Hamid Karzai and officially assumed the position of Canada’s Ambassador to Afghanistan.

In the coming weeks, Ambassador Davidson will be meeting with senior officials and representatives of civil society to learn more about the key issues facing Afghanistan. He will also be seeing first hand how Canadians are making a difference on the ground.
