Floods kill 60 in Afghanistan

Heavy rains and floods have claimed the lives of some 60 people in different parts of the war-battered Afghanistan over the past one week, a private television channel Tolo broadcast in its main news bulletin on Thursday.

Quoting officials, the television added that about 600 houses have been damaged or washed away in the natural disaster.

Heavy rains over the past one week have caused flooding in northern Baghlan, Balkh, Jauzjan, northwest Badghis and western Herat provinces.
