2 NATO soldiers killed in S. Afghanistan

Two soldiers with the NATO-led International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) were killed Sunday in a roadside bombing in southern Afghanistan, said a statement of the alliance issued here on Monday.
"Two ISAF service members were killed yesterday as a result of an Improvised Explosive Device (IED) detonation that occurred in southern Afghanistan," it said.
It is ISAF policy not to release the nationality of any casualty prior to the relevant national authority doing so, it added.
International troops, mostly from the U.S. and Britain, have been stationed in southern Afghanistan combating Taliban-led insurgency there.
Conflicts and violence have left 289 foreign soldiers dead in the war-torn country so far in 2009.
