A pilotless reconnaissance plane crashed in Ghazni province of southern Afghanistan Friday night, provincial police chief said Saturday.
"The drone crashed in Qara Bagh district Friday evening with no loss of live," Khial Baz Shirza told Xinhua. He put technical problems on the incident.
However, Taliban purported spokesman Zabihullah Mujahid claimed the responsibility added that his men shot down a helicopter of foreign troops and all soldiers aboard were killed.
Taliban militants, whose regime was toppled in U.S. -led Coalition invasion in late 2001, have vowed to intensify their attacks against Afghan and international troops stationed in Afghanistan.
There are around 70,000 international troops stationed in Afghanistan while U.S. President Barack Obama has ordered over 20,000 strong combat forces and advisors in the coming months to join 36,000 U.S. troops already fighting Taliban militants in the war-torn country.
