5 militants killed, 3 detained by Afghan National Army

"A group of insurgents on Wednesday attacked an ANA check point in Yahya Khil district where security personnel of ANA launched a cleanup operation killing five enemies," the press release added.
It also noted that one militant was detained and four assault rifles and five motorbikes belonging to enemies were also found by ANA.
In another separate incident, it said, two militants were also detained by ANA forces in Wardak province, some 60 km west of capital Kabul, on Wednesday.
Further more, the statement said that 11 ANA soldiers and an Afghan interpreter, who were detained by militants last Saturday, were released in an operation in Ghazi Abad district of Kunar province, eastern Afghanistan.
However, it did not mention the date when the operation was launched, adding that the 24 militants and four ANA soldiers were killed during the battle.
Taliban militants have vowed to launch spring offensive against Afghan and international troops and intensify their attacks mostly in the shape of roadside bombs and suicide attacks.
