“We Will Continue to Threat US If We Are Not Recognized,” Says Haqqani

The Taliban will continue to threaten as long as the US refuses to recognize their regime.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_The Taliban acting interior minister Sirajuddin said that if the United States did not recognize them, they would continue to threaten the US.

“The Taliban will continue to threaten as long as the US refuses to recognize them,” Haqqani said on (Monday, January 24).

Haqqani said, “By refusing to recognize the Taliban, the US is keeping the doors of hostility against the Afghan people wide open.”

However, Haqqani has stated that once they are recognized, they will no longer be a threat to anyone.

In addition, he also said that there is no or group on Afghan soil.

Haqqani has stated that the Taliban are committed to the with the US and said, “They asked us to make sure that Afghan territory was not used to attack others, and we agreed and adhered to this commitment.”

He, however, said the US must also keep its commitments under the agreement.

The Taliban acting interior minister told Al Jazeera, “They are refusing to recognize us, while they are treating us informally and preventing the international community from interacting with us, and that is unacceptable.”

On the other hand, Haqqani also spoke about the return of former security forces to the Taliban, adding that the ex-security forces will be rehired in security based on their piety.

In the meantime, he said about those who commit corruption and in the rows of the Taliban that these people will be handed over to the judiciary by the order of the Taliban leader.

Meanwhile, the US has offered a $1 million ransom for the capture of Sirajuddin Haqqani, and he is still on the wanted list by the US Federal Police.

The remarks were made by Sirajudding Haqqani, the Taliban acting interior minister, as the world set conditions for the Taliban to recognize them, including the formation of an inclusive government, respect for human rights, including women’s rights, the fight against terrorism, and the cessation of cooperation with terrorist groups including -Qaeda.
