One Million Afghan Refugees Deported from Iran and Pakistan: IOM

These migrants have returned or been deported as Afghanistan grapples with a severe economic crisis.

Afghan Voice Agency(AVA)_The International Organization for Migration (IOM) says more than one million Afghan refugees from Iran and Pakistan have returned or been deported to Afghanistan this year.

The migrants need immediate help and should be supported, tweeted on Sunday, December 12.

The Organization for has assured that it will assist these migrants in this challenging situation.

These migrants have returned or been deported as Afghanistan grapples with a severe economic crisis. Meanwhile, there is a fear that a humanitarian catastrophe will occur in the country as winter is coming.

On the other hand, the Wall Street Journal has recently reported that Iran has increased deportations of Afghans fleeing “poverty and the Taliban” and seeking refuge in the country.

“The Iranian officials are simply expelling people, and that percentage has risen dramatically since the Taliban came to power,” said a UN official to the Wall Street Journal.

According to the report, between 2,500 and 4,000 people are deported daily by Iranian authorities and transferred to Zaranj, the capital of Nimruz province.

Meanwhile, a large number of citizens are fleeing to neighboring countries to escape poverty and the threats of the Taliban. However, there have been claims in the past about Pakistan that Afghan troops who have taken refuge in the country are mysteriously disappearing.
