Global engagement with Taliban govt underlined
Pakistan has underlined the need for global engagement with the Taliban government to prevent a looming humanitarian crisis and economic collapse in Afghanistan.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_The Foreign Office issued the call as special envoys of , China and Pakistan arrived in Islamabad after a two-day visit to Kabul.
During their trip, the diplomats met Afghanistan’s Prime Minister Mohammad Hasan Akhund, Foreign Minister Mutaqi and other officials of the caretaker government.
The envoys met Pakistan Foreign Secretary . They reaffirmed support for a peaceful, stable, sovereign and prosperous Afghanistan.
They also underlined the importance of international engagement to address and stabilise economic situation,” the Foreign Office said in a statement.
The Taliban informed the diplomats they were not averse to girls’ education and would soon reopen schools after addressing the security situation.
