Pakistani, Chinese ambassadors call on Afghan acting foreign minister

In two separate meetings on Tuesday, September 14 the ambassadors of China and Pakistan to Kabul met with the acting foreign minister of Afghanistan Amir Khan Motaqi.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_These are the first introductory meetings of any foreign envoy to Afghanistan with Amir Khan Motaqi after his appointment.

envoy to Kabul, Mansoor Ahmad Khan wrote on his Twitter post that he had discussed strengthening bilateral relations, humanitarian aid to Afghan people, and people to people engagement with Amir Kham Motaqi.

In the meantime, the to Kabul has also met with the Afghan acting foreign minister.

Wang Yi has announced $15 million in humanitarian aid to the people of Afghanistan and promised to be continuing assistance as such.

Earlier, the foreign minister and deputy prime minister became the first-ever high-ranking foreign official who visited Kabul after the Taliban announced their interim government.

The meetings by regional and ’ officials come at a time when the Taliban are not yet recognized and the US has asked countries including Pakistan not to recognize the Taliban until and unless they remain committed to , women rights, and to establishing an inclusive government.
