Khan seeks global engagement with Afghanistan

Pakistan has called for enhanced international engagement with Afghanistan to address humanitarian needs and ensure economic stability.

Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Prime Minister issued the call during a telephone conversation with United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres on Saturday.

Recent developments in Afghanistan, with particular focus on the humanitarian situation there, came up for discussion, Khan’s office said.

The prime minister highlighted the imperative of peace, stability and an inclusive in the neighbouring country.

The opportunity to put an end to 40 years of conflict in Afghanistan must be seized by enabling the Afghans to achieve lasting peace, security and prosperity, he stressed.

He urged the global fraternity to become more engaged with Afghanistan, accord urgent priority to addressing humanitarian needs and ensuring .

Khan believed such measures would not only reinforce security but also preclude a mass exodus of Afghans from their country.

The premier commended the vital role of the United Nations in delivering much-needed to the Afghan people

The prime minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s full support for the smooth operation of ’s_humanitarian mission in Afghanistan.
