Afghanistan reports 278 infections, 17 deaths of COVID-19 in past 24 hours
As many as 278 positive cases of coronavirus have been registered out of 3,367 samples tested in government laboratories across the country over the last 24 hours, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) said via a statement on Monday.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_The tally of countrywide confirmed cases hit 151,291 after 278 people tested positive over the past 24 hours, amidst the third wave of the fatal virus, the MoPH statement said.
As many as 357 patients recovered and were discharged from the government hospitals during the last 24 hours, said the MoPH statement.
A total of 17 deaths have been recorded during the past day which pushed the -19 deaths to 6,978, the statement furthered.
This comes as the Ministry of has announced over 1.8 have so far been vaccinated against the coronavirus across the country with the positive cases decreasing on regular basis.
The tally of global COVID-19 positive cases has hit 204,509,677 with 4,322,361 deaths recorded while 183,677,087 people have been recovered so far, the statistics shared by, as of Tuesday, August 10, 2021.
