Afghan soil is used against Pakistan: Pakistani NSA

The National Security Advisor of Pakistan Moeed Yusuf Sunday in the Pakistani embassy based in Washington DC said that Tahrik-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) is based in Afghanistan and Afghanistan’s soil is being used to threaten Pakistan.

Afghan Voice Agency(AVA)_During the media brief, the NSA said that peace in Afghanistan is not a weakness but a strength of Pakistan.

NSA has been visiting the United States since the 27th of July and has met with his US counterpart Jake Sullivan and other officials. Yusuf is purportedly there to discuss Afghanistan’s situation and bilateral issues.

Moeed Yusuf has suggested that now that the security vacuum is being created in Afghanistan after foreign troops’ full withdrawal, the US and Pakistan should work closely. He considered the US and Pakistan to be the only ideal duo in the region to jointly work in Afghanistan.

Pakistan was the biggest facilitator for US and forces in the past two decades as the former provided its port in Karachi and safe routes for carrying military equipment to Afghanistan. The new collaboration in Afghanistan is yet to be clarified by the US and Pakistan.

Pakistan has always been accused of funding, supporting, and providing safe havens and medical facilities to the Taliban. Earlier Afghan , Hamdullah Muhib has said that nearly 15 thousand students of religious schools (Madrasas) in Pakistan are prepared to cross the border into Afghanistan and fight along with the Taliban.
