Taliban delegation to meet Afghan politicians in Iran.
The Taliban’s political office spokesperson Naeem Wardak in his twitter post confirmed that delegation led by Shir Muhammad Abbas Stanikzai to meet with some prominent Afghan Figures.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_ further wrote that the Taliban delegation visits Iran based on the latter’s official invitation.
As per the spokesman, the Taliban delegation to hold talks with Iranian officials on various bilateral issues.
Naeem Wardak added that there will be exchange of views with Afghan delegation over Afghanistan’s current situation and rational solution to the problem through negotiations.
The delegation from led by former vice president includes
Karim khuram, Irshad Ahmadi, Salam Rahimi, Zahir Wahdar, Muhamaadullah Batash.
The meeting comes amid stalemate in talks between the negotiating teams of Afghan government and the Taliban and war has been escalated between the sides in Afghanistan.
Iran is now third country hosting Afghan sides after Qatar and Russia the latter two culminating in no result for the ongoing misery in Afghanistan. Both the sides were due to meet in Turkey but the meeting is yet to take place.
Intra-afghan talks which was core item of US-Taliban peace accord, are in sheer deadlock now after round about one year.
