Int'l community: Taliban must stop killings of rights activists
International human rights groups have expressed concern over the escalation of the Taliban's assassination of civil society activists in Afghanistan, saying it would undermine international community's confidence on the Taliban.
Afghan Voice Agency (AVA)_Amnesty International says the Taliban have killed 17 civil society activists in targeted attacks over the past few months, indicating the Taliban's distrust of freedom of expression.
The International Organization for Human Rights (IOHR) also said with the start withdrawal of US troops, the Taliban have escalated the violence, and civil society activists, demonstrating the Taliban's non-commitment to freedom of expression.
These organizations urges Taliban to respect freedom of expression and stop killing of civil society activists.
