India records more than 2,000 deaths in a single day

India reported more than 2000 deaths due to coronavirus over the past 24 hours, this is the highest single-day tally so far recorded in the country.

COVID-19 infections rose by a record 295,041 infected individuals and the Total deaths in India have reached to 182,553 people.

The total number of COVID-19 cases in India is now 15.6 million, after the United States, the country is most affected by the pandemic.

United States has recorded over 31 million infections up to now.

According to BBC experts believe the quick spread of the virus during the second wave is much faster across India.

Big religious gatherings, reopening of the most public areas, and crowded election rallies are blamed for the uptick.
