AAF Wrecks ‘Taliban Extortion Checkpoint’ in North

At least seven Taliban killed and further two wounded after Afghan Air Forces carried and attack against an “extortion checkpoint” of the group in northern province of Kunduz, said the Ministry of Defense in a statement Sunday.


According to the statement, Taliban at the checkpoint would extort money from locals, causing security tension among residents in Chahardara district of the province.

  “A Taliban’s extortion checkpoint was targeted by #AAF in Chahardara district of Kunduz province yesterday,” said the MoD in a tweet.  “7 #Taliban were killed and 2 others were wounded as a result,” the tweet added.

“They were extorting civilians when they were targeted by #AAF.”  Meanwhile, in another battle in Kandahar province, at least 74 Taliban killed and further 15 members of the group killed in Zheria, Dand, Panjwae an Arghandab districts of the province, according to the statement. 

“74 #Taliban were killed and 15 others were wounded in Zheria, Dand, Panjwae and Arghandab districts of Kandahar province, yesterday,” said MoD in a tweet.  “They were preparing to attack #ANDSF positions when they were targeted by #ANA. Additionally, a large amount of their weapons were destroyed.”  Taliban did not immediately comment on the incident.
