Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan on Friday said He wishes France will soon get rid of President Emmanuel Macron.
He described the French president a burden on France, saying the country is enduring dangerous times upon his rule.
“#Macron is a burden on France. Macron and France are going through a very dangerous period actually. My hope is that France gets rid of the Macron trouble as soon as possible,” Aljazeera quoted Erdogan.
Earlier, the same month, Erdogan said Macron needed a “mental health check” over his attitude towards Muslims.
Ankara and Paris have also traded accusations about their roles in the #Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, clashed on the Libyan crisis, and the conflict between Greece and Turkey on Eastern Mediterranean exploration rights.
In a televised interview Friday, Macron appeared unwilling to be drawn into a new round of insults with #Erdogan.
“I believe in respect… I think invective between political leaders is not a good method,” said Macron, according to France24.
