High Economic Council Held Extraordinary Meeting on Mining Projects

The Presidential Palace in a press release said that based on the agenda, the Minister of Mines and Petroleum Mohammad Haroon #Chakhansuri provided information on new small-scale and large-scale mining sites, small-scale mining projects and extension of four #small-scale mining licenses.
Chakhansuri said that about (1.6) billion AFG have been allocated on new investment for 5 years, employment will be provided for about 4,000 people and about 400 million AFG will be collected from the perception of royalties and land rent annually.
He added that Talak mining revenues in Nangarhar province and salt mines in Takhar province are being collected and with the implementation of new mining projects, about (31) illegal mining sites will be turned into licensed and legal mining sites.
In the meantime, President #Ghani said that the goal of the Government of Afghanistan is the economic mobilization of the country and the government will use all resources for economic mobilization. He added that the government’s priority is to prevent the country’s mining smuggling.
The High Economic Council approved new small-scale mining sites and small-scale mining projects ready for licensing.
The Council also instructed the Ministry of Mines and Petroleum to hold regular meetings under the supervision of the First Vice President and in cooperation with relevant institutions and submit its report with specific proposals to future meetings of the Supreme #Economic_Council.
